industrial loft
Within the upper volume of a former lightbulb factory, we designed and built an elevated platform that creates a distinct retreat while remaining visually connected to its surroundings. Accessed via a discreet hatch, the platform introduces a new layer to the space—one that feels both secluded and suspended within the larger industrial shell.
The structure is fully encased in glass, forming a quiet, almost bubble-like enclosure. This transparency preserves the openness of the factory hall while offering uninterrupted views over the city beyond. From within, the platform feels removed yet connected: a place of pause that floats above the everyday life of the interior.
Carefully detailed to sit lightly within the historic fabric, the intervention respects the building’s industrial heritage while adding a contemporary spatial experience. The contrast between the raw factory structure and the refined, glass-enclosed volume reinforces the dialogue between old and new—functional, restrained, and quietly expressive.
